Hello, I’m Abhi Baireddy, your garden-variety Software Engineer based out of Seattle, WA. I grew up in Hyderabad, India and moved to the US when I was 20, hoping to make a name for myself.
I’ve been with Google Cloud Storage (GCS) ever since I started my career in tech in Aug 2021 fresh out of grad school. I’m currently part of a group within GCS that focuses on the storage needs of large-scale distributed workloads that run on TPUs or GPUs. My day-to-day involves analyzing the storage behavior of AI/ML workloads (e.g., training, checkpointing, and inference) and developing the benchmarking tools that help other storage teams validate their optimizations.
Before joining Google, I lived in Salt Lake City, UT for about three years where I attended grad school at the University of Utah.
Outside of work, I usually don’t do much but I take my biryani very seriously. On weekends, it’s very likely you’ll find me and my friends talking loudly in one of Seattle’s best coffee shops.
